Peace Education

NET is pleased to fund CND's Peace Education work, which aims to empower young people with knowledge on peace and nuclear issues and support them in making their own decisions. Three education packs are available free of charge, which can be downloaded below. All activities are based on co-operative and active learning.

One activity - The Bomb Factor - is available on the Times Educational Supplement website, where it has received excellent reviews and been viewed almost 1200 times in a fortnight and is in the top-10 downloads. There is also a film that was produced by Teachers' TV on the activity. Watch it here!

As well as teaching resources, free assembly talks and interactive classroom workshops are provided. the latter involving case studies and group discussions, which are adapted to suit a wide range of age groups and subject areas.

Currently workshops and talks to schools are only offered in London and the south east, but there are plans to expand the school speakers’ network to other regions in England in the near future.

The CND Peace Education Programme does not campaign in schools. It offers a unique and impartial insight into the use and impact of nuclear weapons. Sessions are geared towards getting young people actively involved in exploring these issues, supporting independent thinking and encouraging debate.

If you would like to order a hard copy of one of the education packs, or book a school speaker, you can contact the CND Peace Education Team on This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
